Better Than Sex – Waterproof eyeliner review

Hey guys, I recently bought a lot of cool stuff from Sephora! Gotta take advantage of those yearly sales, right? I love Sephora, it’s like going into a candy shop, I find the quality of all the brands that Sephora carries is good!

One of the items that I bought was the new waterproof eyeliner by Too Faced’s brand Better Than Sex!

They only have the liquid eyeliner in black at the moment and the liquid eyeliner comes in pen form. Which I find is cute and convenient!

When I started applying the eyeliner I noticed how smoothly and effortlessly it glided on. It was very easy to apply. I wore the eyeliner for about 8 hours and they eyeliner didn’t smudge. It looked pretty much the same as it did when I first applied it.

Would I recommend this product? Yes, I would! I think it’s a good investment if you’re looking for a new liquid eyeliner. I love liquid eyeliners for creating a winged eyeliner!

I bought so much more great products from Sephora so I’ll be posting more reviews soon 🙂

The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina!

Guys! I’ve wanted to write a post on the show for so long! The show is amazing!

So far there are two seasons of the show, plus a Christmas special (which was amazing). The show is based on the 90’s sitcom Sabrina the Teenage Witch as well as the comics. This show is definitely a darker vibe than its 90s counterpart and is not a sitcom. The show is a spin-off of the tv show Riverdale, which is based off of Archie comics. Both shows have darker vibes than the comics and also have more modern twists.

What I love about the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is that it brings Sabrina Spellman back to life, who is an iconic teenage half-witch and half-mortal. Sabrina is torn between both her mortal side and her darker witch side and it’s interesting to watch her balance her mortal life and witch life.

I also love the character Nick Scratch, Sabrina’s love interest other than Harvey. Nick is played by Gavin Leatherwood who is amazing at portraying Nick. Nick is the hot bad boy that has an interest in Sabrina (I’m trying not to give away too many spoilers) and is a large part in season two. I love Nick and Sabrina together, just as much and probably even more than I like Harvey and Sabrina together. I love Harvey and Sabrina together in the sense that they are iconic and because their love feels so sweet and pure. Nick and Sabrina’s love definitely feels different in the sense that their love feels darker and more lustful, but I like how Nick loves and accepts every part of Sabrina. Who knows who Sabrina will end up with in the end, I have a feeling there will be a lot more seasons to come. I also hope they have more holiday specials because the Christmas special was amazing!

So if you guys are looking for a new show to binge watch, I would definitely recommend this one 🙂 Oh and all the episodes are given at once with each season premiere! I hope you guys love the show as much as I do 🙂

Huda beauty The New Nude Eyeshadow Palette

Hi guys, recently I bought the New Nude Eyeshadow Palette by Huda Beauty! The palette is very nice and has 18 beautiful shades of eyeshadow. The eyeshadows include a mix of matte shadows, shimmer shadows, and a concealer (which is a nice addition).

I have a very olive/medium skin tone and I find the eyeshadows show up very well on my skin tone, I’ve seen the colours on darker and fairer women as well and it shows up just as nice on their skin tones.

The quality of the eyeshadows are nice and blend really nicely. The colour scheme of the eyeshadow palette is a mix of nude, pink, and mauve. Beautiful colours for a soft look, and the nice part is if you want to glam it up there are gorgeous shimmer eyeshadows that will really amp up the look.

The shadows are also formulated with aloe vera and coconut oil, which is cool 🙂

Overall I would say this palette is really nice and has good quality shadows. The palette is also more on the expensive side, but I really think the saying “you get what you pay for” is true. I think it’s worth the money because the colours are gorgeous and you can have fun and create different looks with all the different matte and shimmer shades. If you need a good eyeshadow palette with nudes, pinks, and mauves I would definitely recommend this palette!

  • The photo of the palette is not mine, it is one I found of the palette online *

3 beautiful red lipsticks for fair skin

Hi guys, recently I wrote a post on beautiful red lipsticks for olive skin, and I wanted to share my favourite shades of red lipstick on fair/porcelain skin as well!

One thing I love about makeup on fair or porcelain skin is when doing makeup, all the colours really pop on fair/porcelain skin. Red is such a pretty colour and I love how it looks on fair/porcelain skin tones! I chose three of my favourite red lipstick shades for fair skin to give you guys some suggestions!

Nars semi-matte lipstick Jungle Red –

Nars is a great brand and has good quality makeup all around, I really love their matte lipsticks. This shade is very pretty and true to its name, it really is a ferocious and fun red.

MAC Ruby Woo –

I mentioned this lipstick shade in my post for my favourite red lipstick shades for olive skin tones. This is a universally flattering lipstick and it is fairly similar Jungle Red but a bit warmer. This colour is such a classic beautiful shade of red and what I love about it is it looks great for day time looks and night time looks.

Huda beauty liquid matte lipstick in heartbreaker –

This lipstick is such a pretty colour! This colour does have a lot of pink undertones I find but I think that makes the colour very fun and flirty. This colour would look gorgeous on all skin tones but I LOVE how it looks on fair skin.

Guys, there are so many great lipstick brands out there, just try out which ones work best for you! I just named a few of the brands and lipstick shades I think you guys will really like. My next post will be on my favourite red lipsticks for darker skin tones. Have a great weekend everyone!

4 beautiful red lipsticks for olive skin

Hey guys, I wanted to share with you guys some very beautiful red lipsticks for olive skin, there are so many good brands and pretty shades of red but I narrowed it down to four!

MAC Ruby Woo-

This colour doesn’t just look good on olive skin, it’s pretty flattering on all skin tones. It’s a bit more of a blue-red in my opinion and it’s a very pretty colour. It’s one of MAC’s most popular red lipstick shades, and for good reason.

Nars velvet matte lip-mysterious red

This lip pencil is such a pretty shade of red, on the website it says it’s crimson red. It looks very warm but bright on olive skin tones, you can really play it up if you use lip liner on your lips first.

Laura Mercier Velour Lip Colour – Foreplay

This colour is a very unique shade of red. It has a very velvety smooth satin but matte finish. It’s a gorgeous red. It compliments olive skin tones very well.

Smashbox- be legendary-Made it

This shade is a darker slightly burgundy red. It’s more of an intense dark edgy red and I find it has more blue undertones in it. If you’re going for a darker vibe, this colour would be a good choice. The colour lasts very long and the quality is pretty good. It has a matte finish to it.

These are but a few gorgeous red lipsticks for olive skin! We all have different skin tones so play around guys and just have fun finding shades that work with your skin! What are your favourite makeup brands? Also, I just recently purchased the Huda beauty nude palette and I will be doing a review on it very soon, maybe I’ll post a vlog on it as well. I’ll also be posting more since summer is just around the corner 🙂 I’m also trying to learn to properly put photos in my posts so it’s more engaging and there are visual representations for everyone 🙂

My five tips for healthy hair

Hi everyone, I’m going to share tips with you guys that really helped me nurse my hair back to health. In high school, my hair suffered from dryness and I never knew why, I took care of it pretty good but it could have been a mix of not using the best products for my hair as well as hormonal imbalance because high school is a time when we all go through puberty. A few amazing shampoos and other good suggestions later my hair is a lot healthier, softer, and thicker.

These are my tips for healthier hair:

Tip #1: Get regular hair trims

I know some people may want to keep their hair nice and long but getting regular trims is important to get rid of split ends, you don’t have to cut off a lot, just a small amount every month or two helps keep your hair healthy.

Tip #2: Don’t shampoo your hair every day

I know it’s nice to have your hair feeling all clean and pretty but try not to wash your hair every day because your hair produces important essential oils that are necessary to condition and protect your hair.

Tip #3: Try to limit heat on hair

Straightening and applying direct intense heat on your hair can damage your hair’s hydrogen bonds. It can be very damaging and can dry out your hair. Try to limit the use of hair appliances on your hair as much as you can.

Tip #4: Best shampoo for your hair

It took me forever to find good shampoos that actually worked to make my hair soft and healthy. My hair is very particular on the shampoos that it likes and luckily I found some great shampoos that keep my hair healthy and soft. I’ll put some links below to some of my favourite shampoos that work wonders on my hair. But please remember guys that we all have different hair types so these shampoos may not work for your hair the same as it did for mine, but it’s worth a shot because these shampoos really did make my hair healthy again after a long time.

Tip #5: Do not rub your hair dry

This may sound obvious guys, but treat your hair like silk! Rubbing your hair dry will break it and damage it. Try to gently squeeze the water out of your hair or get one of those microfibre towels (they’re amazing, especially for curly hair).

I have naturally curly hair and I know a lot of my curly hair girls will understand how hard it is to keep our hair moisturized, straight hair retains moisture a lot easier. Using proper shampoos and products for our hair is extremely important. I also have some natural hair mask recipes that help keep my hair healthy, but I will share that another time 🙂

These are some of my favourite shampoos and links to microfibre towels 🙂

September is childhood cancer month

Hi everyone, today I wanted to talk about something very important. As many of you know, last month was September, and September is childhood cancer month. It is a very emotional month and I think more people should be aware of what people advocate about childhood cancer.

I follow a family on Instagram, who lost their four-year-old daughter named Ellie and it was very heartbreaking watching their story over Instagram. I don’t know them personally, but I can tell they are a very strong family and that Ellie had a very strong and sweet spirit.

Sadly, childhood cancer only gets 4% of funding from cancer research. I wonder why childhood cancer only gets 4% funding when it is the most common death by disease for Canadian children. I am not just advocating for Canadian children, but children all over the world who have been victims of this horrible disease.

My heart truly aches for these children and their families, I don’t think anyone could truly imagine the pain of these children and their loved ones, God forbid. Some of these families have a hard time financially being able to finance cancer treatments, not only that but they have to take time off work to take care of their child. That is why I encourage everyone to do research on cancer and be aware of what is going on, I know one day we can and will find a cure for this horrible ugly disease that is affecting adults and children alike.

One very important topic I wanted to talk about in my article, is this little boy named Preston. He is a little boy with cancer, and his family is asking for financial help with bills. I think they would ever so appreciate it everyone could give as much as they could to help. Please go to this link to donate: www.teamlillyfoundation.org/for-preston/

You guys, it would mean the world to me if you could donate to help Preston and his family. There are so many families that need our help. This disease is real and it is affecting individuals and families all over the world, people think they can turn a blind eye to it but cancer is evil.

Thank you, everyone.

My journey to Sri Lanka

Hi guys! I went to Sri Lanka over the summer and I wanted to share my experience with you! I wrote this article for my friend for his beach website, as I am the only person he knows who has been to Sri Lanka, which by the way has some of the most beautiful beaches you will ever see! I will put a link to his website below if you’re interested in looking at his website 🙂

Sri Lanka is one of those countries that brings you so much warmth that you’re filled to the brim with joy and peace. When I went there this past summer, it changed my perspective on a lot of things. People in North America stress too much about little things and let it ruin their day, I’m guilty of that sometimes too if we’re being completely honest. Feeling that ocean breeze and just relaxing on the beach brought me an immense amount of happiness and peace. People even catch live fish their and they can cook it there too, it is delicious. When you eat live fish compared to frozen or store-bought fish, you’ll never want to eat fish bought from the grocery store ever again. One of the beaches I went to was Galle Face Green beach. The entire Galle face strip was filled with thousands of people, tourists and local residents alike. The strip was filled with food vendors selling chicken. Fish, popcorn, nuts, etc. They were also selling souvenir items like magnets and t-shirts to name a few. When I went into the ocean I could immediately tell how salty the water was just by the smell and feel of the water. The current was so strong and the waves were getting bigger and bigger as the day went on. It’s not everyday one gets to be in the Indian ocean, and I was enjoying every bit of it. The beaches near the resorts were quite different compared to the Galle Face beach. The beaches in the resorts were breathtaking. One truly can’t even begin to imagine how beautiful these beaches were unless they’re there and experience it themselves. If you like tropical islands, then you will think this is paradise. The palm trees, the blue ocean, the beautiful light sand, I’ve been to Cuban beaches before that were beautiful but this was an entirely different breathtaking experience altogether. If you want to stay at a resort, there are a few options. You can stay at a resort hotel or you can stay in a villa. If you stay in a villa it is like staying in your own little house, it is really cool. Not to mention the food at the resorts was amazing. There are even beaches where you can go whale and dolphin watching! Unfortunately I never got to go whale and dolphin watching, but next time I go to Sri Lanka I will have to experience that. It’s a long trip to go to Sri Lanka from Canada, but it is well worth it. The food, the people, the atmosphere, everything is just amazing there. I love Canada, but Sri Lanka was a nice getaway from reality. As beautiful of a country, Canada is, the beaches in Canada are not comparable to the beaches in Sri Lanka. The warm deep blue water, the beautiful sand and the palm trees everywhere, the atmosphere is completely different. Sri Lanka is so filled with warm and kind people, and it just made the trip that much more special.

I hope you guys liked my article! I always have so much sharing stuff with you guys 🙂

The Nun

Hey guys, today I wanted to give my review of the movie The Nun. It’s a movie that is part of the conjuring series, a series that I’m a fan of. I love horror movies!

The movie starts off pretty spooky, with two nuns walking into a scary dark room in front of a door with the words “God ends here”. I’m not going to talk too much about what happens in the movie as to not spoil it for you guys. I think the movie is good, in all honesty, I wish there was a better backstory, but the movie was still scary. That demon nun is really scary, definitely something you see in your nightmares.

The movie is slightly humorous, which is always nice. Also, the lead actress in the movie Taissa Farmiga who plays sister Irene is sisters with the actress who plays Lorraine Warren, Vera Farmiga, in real life! Maybe in the next movie in the series they will connect the characters together, especially considering both their characters have visions, which is really cool. I’m sure the creators of the movie did that on purpose.

Overall, I think it was an entertaining movie, I was definitely a little scared driving back home alone after watching the movie in the theatres later in the night! I wish they made the storyline and the backstory a little more interesting but it was still a good movie, some scenes were really intense like the scene where all the nuns come together and pray, that was one of the really good scenes, if you watch the movie you’ll know why!

Thanks for reading guys! I would’ve talked a bit more about the movie but I don’t want to spoil it! I would love to hear your comments on the movie and whether you liked it or not! What were your favourite scenes?
